Rockstar Energy Juiced
Psychedelic and energetic illustrations for Rockstar Energy Juiced line, as part of their whole brand packaging redesign.
The brief asked for redesign of their two most popular flavors, Island Mango and Pineapple Orange Guava. With the new, modern branding and the prominent central, symmetrical can "star", the original illustrations did not fit the allotted space between the star points nor the look overall. Likewise, the drink contains a small amount of actual juice so the fruit depictions on the can would have to be recognizable while also abstracted enough to fit both customer expectation and market requirements.
The result is an illustration that is energetic, psychedelic and unique to the Juiced product line – it's a unique look that fits the overall Rockstar Energy Brand.

Flavor is illustrated in a psychedelic style that feels modern and energetic. Pineapple Orange and Guava emerge from behind the star. Tropical Mango flavor is expressed through different cuts of mango – the primary ingredient – with flowing, dripping colors to cue the mysterious tropical blend. Fierce and fun animals bring energy and narrative to the energy drink design.
The mirrored layout follows the mirrored Rockstar Energy star can design. However, the mirrored halves of the illustration are not completely symmetrical in order for the piece to not feel "unsettling" and to keep the viewer engaged throughout the composition.
Behind the Star—
The overall composition is designed to work with and without the overlapping Rockstar Energy star on the can. When in use on social media or licensing, the full illustration becomes a point of discovery for the viewer.
